Lightweight prospects Giorgio Visioli (9-0, 6 KOs) and Joe Howarth (14-1, 4 KOs) will clash for the vacant English title tonight, December 17, live on DAZN, at the Indigo at the O2 in London.
A product of Repton Boxing Club, 22-year-old Visioli has either won by knockout or shutout. The southpaw has only had one four-rounder, on his pro debut in 2023, winning in 81 seconds. He then had four six-rounders, only one going the distance, followed by four eight-rounders, the last two going the distance.
"Wigan Warrior" Joe Haworth, 23, won his first three bouts by knockout within just 10 weeks time, between October to December 2021.
His sole defeat came from unbeaten Josh Sandford in 2023, losing by a single point - 57-58. He's won his last seven since, picking up the Central Area lightweight title in November 2024. The Wiganer from Blundells Boxing Gym has won all three fights this year on points without giving away a single round.

Giorgio Visioli: “December 17, it’s a massive night for me at the Indigo.
“I don’t overlook Joe at all – he’s a very good opponent. He’s got a good record, with only one loss on it. I train hard for every fight and I never underestimate anybody.
“But I genuinely believe that I will be a future World Champion, so it’s no disrespect to Joe but this is just a stepping stone for me and where I want to get to, pushing on for major titles in 2026.
“The last six months have worked out perfectly for me. My social media is growing and it’s more than I could have asked for since turning pro. I might not be the biggest of talkers, but I don’t need to be as my boxing does the talking for me in the ring.”
Connor Mitchell: “I’d love to say, ‘look Dad, I’ve gone one better than you and I’m a World Champion’,” said Essex boy Mitchell.
“My Dad had a fantastic career. I probably didn’t realise the level my Dad was at and how good he really was until I was around 14-years-old and mixing it at a top level as an amateur.
“I didn’t even like Boxing to begin with. I felt I was robbed in one of my early amateur fights and I wanted to give up, and go back to football. I found it hard at first to deal with the pressure whenever I walked into a gym and people would say, ‘oh look, it’s Kevin Mitchell’s son’.
“I had a trial at Chelsea and was told I needed to be more physical. So I went back to a Boxing gym – I never went back to football. My dad took me to West Ham Boxing Club and I fell in love with the sport all over again.
“It’s great to turn over to pro and have Conor Benn on my side. He’s been there and done, plus he knows what it is like having a famous dad in the sport too. He’s helped me with so much already and is a protector for me. His whole team are helping me, and my Dad is really happy with that.
“Not many people have done what I have done and been an ABA champion. I had a great amateur career. But I’m excited about the future ahead as a pro. I know I’ve got what it takes to reach that top level. I’ve always wanted to be a professional boxer.
“People always ask me what my dream is and it’s to be able to sit at the table with my old man wearing a world title belt so I can joke with him that I’ve won one and he didn’t! He’d laugh and I know he would absolutely love it if I did ever win it. So, of course, I want to win the world title – especially the green and gold of the WBC. That’s the dream.”
