Frank Warren reveals details of Moses Itauma's next opponent
Moses Itauma up against a "top 10 ranked fighter" next, according to Frank Warren
The future of heavyweight boxing Moses Itauma (14-0, 12 KOs) is preparing for his next fight on August 8 at the O2 Arena in London.
Itauma's opponent is yet to be announced but promoter Frank Warren teased that it will be someone of high calibre, with rumours of an announcement being made next week.
"All I can tell you is until the contracts are signed, it will be a top 10 ranked fighter. It'll be a good test, another good test for him and we're looking forward to a sellout in London at the O2," the Queensberry Promoter revealed.
Itauma was last in action in March when he blew durable American Jermaine Franklin away in five one-sided rounds.
His last 10 fights have all ended by KO, which has seen him reach WBA #1, WBO #1, WBC #3, IBF #5, IBO #11.
Warren's statement rules out WBA Regular champion Murat Gassiev next, as well as WBC Interim titlist Agit Kabayel.
It has just been revealed that Daniel Dubois will defend his new WBO world heavyweight title this autumn, with Fabio Wardley no.1 contender to trigger the rematch clause in their contract.
If Wardley decides against the fight, then Dubois-Itauma would be an easy match for mutual promoter Warren to make, keeping the WBO world title within the Queensberry stable.
