Four nights of title fights confirmed during WBA convention

This year's WBA convention in Lahore features four consecutive night's of boxing shows

Muhammad Waseem vs Jakrawut Majungoen for the WBA Gold bantamweight title headlines the final night at this year's WBA convention in Lahore, Pakistan, live on Triller TV.

The headlining title fight will end a four day boxing festival starting on November 26th as part of the WBA Peace Convention promoted by Falcon Sporting Promotions, Manny Pacquiao Promotions, GloveBoxx and Roy Jones Jr. Boxing, all of which will be broadcast live on Triller TV.

November 26

German bantamweight Zeina Nassar will debut against Thailand’s Kanokwan Wirunpat (5-4, 4 KOs) to kick off the four-day boxing extravaganza on November 26th.

English/Pakistani super featherweight Laura Akram will also debut on the card against local lady Komal Ikhlaq.

November 27

On November 27th Birmingham’s Raza Hamza (18-2-1, 7 KOs) will square-off with Ghana’s Richman Ashelley (12-6, 11 KOs) for the WBA Asia South lightweight title; Dominican Yermi Peralta Jimenez (14-2-2, 10 KOs) vs Mohon Ali (14-2-2, 7 KOs) of Bangladesh will act as chief support.

An eight round light heavyweight clash between Florida’s Steve Geffrard (21-3, 15 KOs) and Ghana’s Paul Sackey (10-1, 6 KOs) joins the undercard.

November 28

Former world title challengers in South Korea’s Ye Joon Kim (21-3-2, 13 KOs) and Thailand’s Yuttapong Tongdee (15-1, 9 KOs) will fight for the WBA Asia Gold super bantamweight belt in the main event on November 28th.

Argentina’s Alberto Palmetta (20-4, 13 KOs) and Filipino Joepher Montano (19-6-2, 17 KOs) will face each other for the WBA Asia South welterweight title in the chief support.

England’s Conor Mistiades (8-0, 8 KOs) and Jamiu Animashaun (10-3, 7 KOs) of Nigeria will put it all on the line for the WBA Asia South light heavyweight title, and Liverpool’s James Metcalf (27-2, 16 KOs) will collide with Julio De Jesus Rodriguez (27-9, 24 KOs) at middleweight.

November 29

Two-time world title challenger Muhammad 'Falcon' Waseem will continue to build in his homeland of Pakistan as he goes in search of a third world title shot.

Waseem (14-2, 10 KOs) will defend his WBA Gold bantamweight title at the MISA Cannt Lahore in Lahore, Pakistan in the headline act against Jakrawut Majungoen on November 29th.

Thailand's Manjungoen (50-7-2, 29 KOs) will come to Pakistan in good form with three knockout victories in his last three fights.

Waseem challenged Sunny Edwards for the IBF flyweight world title over three years ago losing by unanimous-decision, but has since rallied with back-to-back stoppage wins. The 38-year-old from Quetta defeated Wiston Orno six months ago to claim his latest trophy in only his second fight on Pakistani soil.

The Pakistani Government had made a decision ahead of his victory against Orno to help support their countryman build toward another world title shot, who is currently ranked in 13th place by the WBA.

“Danny Vaughan came to me last year and said the Pakistani government wants to get behind Muhammad Waseem,” said Chris Glover of GloveBoxx. “I think there is an opportunity to develop something great here in Pakistan. We are expecting 25,000 people to come through the door! Tune in between the 26th and 29th of November to see an eclectic mix of good fighters in honest fights.”

In the chief support Moroccan welterweight Tarik Zaina (17-2-1, 12 KOs) will collide with Frenchman Mohamed Mimoune (24-7, 5 KOs) for the WBA Gold title.

Also on the undercard, Mexico’s Jesus Saracho (15-2-2, 12 KOs) will lock horns with New York’s Peter Dobson (16-2, 9 KOs) for the WBA Asia Gold belt at welterweight; Englishman Alex Dilmaghani (21-3-1, 7 KOs) collides with Mexican featherweight Eduardo Baez (24-7-2, 10 KOs) for the WBA Asia Gold title; and Manchester’s Jimmy Kelly (29-3, 11 KOs) will face Chaiwat Mueanphong (13-8-1, 10 KOs) for the NBA World and WBA Asia South super middleweight belts.
