Floyd Mayweather calls for Lamont Roach vs Curmel Moton

Following the collapse of the Gervonta Davis (30-0-1, 28KOs) and Lamont Roach (25-1-2,10KOs) rematch, Floyd Mayweather (50-0, 27KOs) called out the Washington man in his latest post on Instagram.

“Let’s make this fight happen. Curmel Moton is already in. Roach Let’s do it. Even if I have to put up the money”, he wrote on Instagram.

Lamont Roach and WBA Lighweight champion, Gervonta Davis were scheduled to rematch on August 16 following a controversial draw in their first meeting earlier this year.

The 30-year-old was the heavy betting underdog going into their first fight and his opponent, Davis was coming off a knockout win against Frank Martin in 2024. 

However, the two men fought in a close fight, with Davis taking a knee in the ninth round leaving boxing fans and pundits feeling that it should have been the deciding factor in Roach coming out the Victor.

Gervonta Davis has instead, accepted a fight with viral youtuber and ex Disney actor Jake Paul, leaving Roach out in the cold without an opponent. 

Despite this, there are names willing to put on a fight with the former 130 pounder.

 WBC lightweight champion and undefeated boxer Shakur Stevenson (24-0, 11KOs) offered to fight the Washington man if a fight with Davis is not confirmed.

“Same mentality champ, if the other fight don’t go through we’re going to run it bro”, he wrote on X.

However, it seems a fight with the Newark man and Roach are less likely to happen following Teofimo Lopez’s call out to Stevenson, claiming they will be fighting early next year.

19-year old, Curmel Moton is not holding back his desire to fight Roach.

He said on X “Let’s run it then, I’ll show the world what’s really up”.

Roach dismissed the idea of fighting Moton and boasted to call Shakur Stevenson’s little cousin, who beat Moton in the amatuers.

“Shut the f--- little boy. I tried to give you some grace. Don’t make me call Zayquin to wash you again.

“Get your rank up and play with something safe before I f--- you up”, He wrote on X.
