The Ring Magazine posted a poll on X to determine exactly who fight fans wish to see Devin Haney (33-0, 15 KOs) in with next.
The question was asked after Haney took to X earlier in the day to say that he was "Looking at a few different options... no date yet".
The 27-year-old won the WBO world welterweight title in November 2025 by defeating the titleholder Brian Norman Jr. unanimously in Riyadh. That 33rd victory of his career saw him become a three-weight world champion, having reigned as undisputed at lightweight and as the WBC super-lightweight champion from 2023 to 2024.
The results of the public vote was for Haney to fight Ryan Garcia next, with Briton Conor Benn not far behind in the polls.
44% Ryan Garcia
34% Conor Benn
17% Rolly Romero
5% Mario Barrios
Haney and Garcia have a storied rivalry that dates back to beyond 2012 from the amateurs, where they were tied at 3-3 after six meetings in a vest.
They met 12 years later in the pros, in April 2024, which was a fight fraught with drama and controversy from the moment it was announced, all the way through the build-up, into the stunning fight itself, and the weeks that followed after.

They scuffled backstage whenever they crossed paths, Ryan masqueraded as a mentally ill person with his bizarre behaviour and social media interaction, and the fight itself was filled with thrilling encounters, with the underdog 'KingRy' scoring knockdowns in rounds 7, 10, 11 enroute to a mixed decision win.

However, Garcia's biggest victory was taken back from him after he was found with PEDs in his system, so the result was overturned to a No Contest.
Haney said goodbye to super-lightweight and had his next two bouts up at welterweight. Garcia, meanwhile, was banned for a year, then lost his very first fight back to Rolly Romero in May 2025.
Now, it appears that fight fans want to see the bitter rivals run it back to finally decide who tips the deadlock from 3-3 to 4-3. However, in reality, it would be hard to see Haney offer his most hated rival a shot at his title after the distrust caused from last time. It would be the biggest fight out the for him, but perhaps one that he doesn't want to reward a particular person with.
