WBC super featherweight champion Eva Wahlstrom, from Finland, successfully defended her crown by drawing with American challenger Ronica “Queen” Jeffrey at the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas, Nevada.
After 10 rounds, one Judge saw Ronica win by 100-90, another saw the champion Eva Wahlstrom win 96-94 while the third saw it as a 95-95 draw.
With this result, Wahlstrom improves her record to 23-1-1, 3 knockouts, while “Queen” Jeffrey’s record is now 17-2-1, 1 knockout.
Jeffrey was a stand-in opponent for Mexican Yareli Larios.
Wahlstrom (22-1-1, 3 KOs), conquered the WBC belt fighting outside of Finland in 2015, winning a 10-round decision over Natalia Vanesa del Valle Aguirre, followed by four successful defenses over Dahiana Santana (35-7), Anahi Esther Sanchez (14-0), Mayra Alejandra Gomez (18-5) and Melissa St. Vil (10-2-4).
