The rescheduled heavyweight clash between Britons Daniel Dubois and Joe Joyce is finally scheduled to take place this Saturday night, with enormous levels of anticipation and excitement to see who can prevail between two of the country's top prospects in the blue ribbon division.

A packed card will take place at Westminster's Church House with the action live on BT Sport as part of the standard subscription in the UK.

Fight #8 - Main Event

Daniel Dubois vs Joe Joyce

Both fighters began by eyeing each other's early tempo and sitting comfortably behind the jab with Dubois trying to get his stiff left jab into range early on. Joyce looked more comfortable at the longer reach who continued to look solid with his leading left jab in the first round with Dubois trying to come onto Joyce in the late stages of an intriguing opener.

Dubois came out with more aggression and power in the early stages of the second trying to land more purposeful shots against Joyce who appeared to be rocked by some stiff shots by Daniel Dubois who continued to find his range with a strong right hand, although Joyce's jab continues to box himself out of a difficult early assault in the second.

Another explosive emerging from Dubois who continued to try and pile pressure on from the opening bell of the third, landing some big shots on Joyce who continued to be unthreatened and tried to line up his jab and continue to stay well in the contest.

Dubois continued to try and load up with his big right hand, but also looked to try and use his left jab as a weapon in the contest in addition to working the body. However Joe Joyce's jab continued to be a huge landing shot in the fight in the fourth.

Dubois landed some better shots at the earlier stages of the fifth and tried using more emphasis on the leading left jab to try and counter the effectiveness of Joyce's jab that had proceeded in the early exchanges. The Greenwich fighter continued to test Joyce's chin with some swift combinations to try and inflict some damage on Joyce as he continued to try and land some short sharp shots.

The sixth round continued to pit the experience of Joe Joyce against the natural power and speed of Daniel Dubois as the pair continued to involve themselves in heavy exchanges as Daniel Dubois' eye started to swell as a result of a persistent left jab from Joyce but Dubois continued to fight on against a composed 'Juggernaut'.

'DDD' had Joyce rocked in the early stages of the seventh as he loaded up with some more powerful combinations but Joyce continued to withstand the pressure and tried to keep moving away from the swift work on the inside from Daniel Dubois.

With an intriguing contest continuing to emerge between the two Britons, Dubois was warned twice about low shots as he appeared to slow down in his fast onslaught against Joyce who maintained his composure and solid jab to make sure he was still in a close contest.

Joyce looked controlled and comfortable in the ninth, with Dubois' eye cintinuing to severely swell and clearly hamper his vision in the latter stges of the fight but Joyce appeared to land the more damaging and punishing shots as the latter stages continued to take a good patter for the Joyce corner as he appeared to have more energy in the tank and less facial damage.

Joe Joyce landed a simply routine jab on the severely damaged eye of Daniel Dubois who kneeled to the canvas in agony and refused to get up and the referee stepped in to stop the fight after an extraordinary fight between two British prospects.

The Juggernaut Joe Joyce defeats Daniel Dubois by a late stoppage in the tenth round to take the victory in the Battle of the Brits and become the Commonwealth and European heavyweight champion.

 

David Adeleye vs Danny Whitaker

The fighters tried to find their early rhythm with Adeleye taking the centre of the ring and trying to land his jab early on, and use his experience gained from sparring with great fighters in the build-up to the contest. Adeleye continued to search for the big right hand in the early stages using the leading left to mask the shot.

Adeleye caught Whittaker squared up after coming forward and landed a right hand over the top before knocking him to the canvas, then after a second knockdown and some stiff hooks landed on Whittaker on the ropes, the referee made a late decision to call off the fight and hand Adeleye the stoppage.

Jack Catterall vs Abderrazak Houya

Catterall begun the cagey affair looking to sit well behind the jab and take control of the fight, and with ring-rust potentially playing a part Catterall was trying toprobe and find his punching rhythm.

Catterall landed a good left hand in the third that landed well on the chin of Houya but the underdog tried to get closer to launch an offense of his own and try to tie up the undefeated Briton. Then the WBO #1 landed his best combination of the fight so far with a swift one-two on the final bell of the third as he looked to try and get some tempo into his work.

After a nasty clash of heads in the fourth, Catterall came off the worst with a cut above the right eye from the collision giving Houya the incentive to try and come forward and battle with confidence. The southpaw landed a better combination on the final bell once again as a swift right hand connected with Houya as the fighters turned to go into their corners.

Houya continued to be a difficult opponent for the Briton in the fifth, with Catterall trying to use his speed and agility to launch any attack of real purpose against a tough Tunisian warrior.

A swift left hand forces a excellent knockdown by Jack Catterall who jumps onto the attack but cannot force the stoppage at the end of the round after a series of quick combinations.

However Houya has continued to battle on and despite some clear grogginess and confusion on the final bell due to the stiff left from Catterall, Houya continued to stay in and survive having a decent seventh round against a busy Catterall.

Another solid round for Catterall as he continues to largely take control of the contest and maintained his status as the more active fighter in the contest, after Houya appeared to be back within the tempo of the fight, recovering well from the knockdown.

Catterall caught Houya again in the ninth as the Tunisian looked dazed in the latter stages of the ninth, and despite being off balance seemed to really starting to struggle to maintain the tempo against Catterall. The shot landed from the inside with yet another left landing flush on Houya.

However once again, the Tunisian rallied and came back into the fight and tried to prevent falling to a first stoppage defeat to date.

Jack Catterall takes the victory by unanimous decision over Abderrazak Houya with judges scorecard at 99-90,after two 10-8 knockdown rounds during the fight.

 

Hamzah Sheeraz vs Guido Nicolas Pitto

Hamzah Sheeraz exploded out of the blocks and came in on the inside early on to launch an assault onto the body of Pitto who felt the power early on and was grimacing after taking some heavy shots in the first round, and looked to be struggling already in this European title contest.

The Briton continued to use his left hand to the body well to take any sting out of the Pitto assaults, and he landed another sharp left hook on the bell to continue to maintain the upper hand in the early stages going into the third.

Sheeraz landed some swift left counter shots on the Spaniard as he tried to ramp up the tempo on his own behalf and failed to escape a couple of neat combinations from Sheeraz as Pitto tried to stay active but failed to land any significant shots.

Another round of impressive counter punching from Sheeraz as Pitto continued to struggle with his progression from launching assaults to escaping any short sharp shots from his opponent.

Pitto experienced a blooded nose in the fifth round as blood came from the right nostril after continuing to take several flush counter shots from Sheeraz as Pitto continued to try and go to work and land his own shots going into the sixth.

Sheeraz continued to move well and land the better quality work as the fight continued to progress, but Pitto took them in his stride and continued to survive well and battle on in the centre of the ring.

The Briton exploded into life in the championship round with some huge combinations that ended the fight as referee stepped in after a series of heavy right and left combinations.

Hamzah Sheeraz wins via late tenth round stoppage against Guido Nicolas Pitto to defend his WBP European super welterweight title.
