Conor Benn to fight Regis Prograis on shocking Tyson Fury vs Arslanbek Makhudov undercard

Conor Benn is looking to build from his Chris Eubank Jr. victory

Son of the great Nigel Benn, Conor Benn (24-1, 14 KOs) has certainly made his own name in the boxing industry. 

The swarming welterweight-ish star most recently got the better of blood rival, Chris Eubank Jr., in a mammoth rematch, which saw Benn finally avenge his – and his father's – defeats to the Eubank clan. 

Benn boxed superbly, well deserving of the victory, and is now aiming to bounce onto bigger and better things. 

He recently made the shocking switch from Matchroom, signing for Dana White’s Zuffa Boxing in a controversial $15 million move that has seen many question the Briton’s motives, considering his seemingly close relationship with Eddie Hearn and Co. 

Now, similarly, surprisingly, Benn has put ink to paper for his ring return against Regis Prograis (30-3, 24 KOs). 

Prograis, a former WBA world champion, will collide with Benn on British soil as part of the Tyson Fury vs Arslanbek Makhmudov bill.

Speaking on the matchup, Benn is looking forward to stepping back between the ropes, as he looks to build on his recent ring success. 

“April 11th can’t come soon enough, returning to Tottenham Hotspur Stadium again, where I made history against Eubank Jr. means everything to me.

"My last fight there showed the world exactly who I am and what I’m about.

"Fighting on the biggest stages, in the biggest shows, I fear no one! I’m fully locked in and ready to deliver another statement performance.”

Prograis is equally excited, convinced that his know-how will give him the upper hand come April.

“Last time I fought in London, Conor Benn was on my undercard, so this is a full-circle moment for me.

"But this circle will close with me teaching him a lesson on April 11th.

"He’s not fighting some weight-drained super middleweight. I am in shape and will bring home this victory.”

The fight, prompted by Zuffa Boxing – and suggested partner, The Ring Magazine – will be streamed live on Netflix as part of the Fury vs Makhmudov event.
