Chris Eubank Jr responds to huge BBBofC fine

This week, Chris Eubank Jr was hit with a £100k fine for slapping Conor Benn around the face with a raw egg during their February fight launch press conference.

Despite being fined £100,000 by the British Boxing Board of Control - an amount that would take someone working full-time on minimum wage five years to earn - his blasé reply was simply worded as, "Worth every penny."

The Brighton boxer was penalised for his attack on bitter rival Conor Benn during their press conference last month, where the 35-year-old smashed a raw egg around the right side of his April 26 opponent's face, causing an instant raucous on stage.

Eubank Jr and Benn will reignite a 35-year-old family rivalry, which extends back to 1990, when his father defeated Nigel Benn in their first fight.

The fought again, up at super-middleweight, in 1993, in a unification match at Old Trafford, Manchester, which ended in a draw.

Now, their sons aim to secure their family's legacies in their forthcoming fight, which also takes place in a stadium. The next generation will clash at Tottenham Hotspur stadium in north London, live on DAZN.
