Izaac Colunga is fighting the most important fight of his life

Californian featherweight prospect Izaac Colunga (3-0, 2KOs), a brilliant fighter with a promising future, suffered an unfortunate accident in March last year.

Riverside's Izaac was in the wrong place at the wrong time and was shot in the neck leaving him paralyzed from the waist down. Colunga was an outstanding student and soccer player at Centennial High School in California.

Former world champion Mikey Garcia climbed into the ring last year for an exhibition bout against boxing legend Eric Morales. All proceeds were donated to help Izaac.

Izaac has the support of the García Team to continue with the most important fight of his life through his therapies for his improvement and retains the staunch, unwavering faith that he can fully recover.

Colunga made his professional debut in June 2018, winning via UD. He then stopped his next two opponents in August 2018 and January 2019, before tragedy struck.

The World Boxing Council sent Izaac a replica of the championship belt for his tremendous and intrepid courage and wished him a full recovery.

BNN would also like to join in with their wishes for a full and speedy recovery.
