Kell Brook faces a huge challenge against undefeated world champion Terence Crawford on Saturday night

Terence Crawford will defend his undefeated record and WBO world welterweight title against Kell Brook in the MGM, Las Vegas on Saturday night after a war of words has taken over the build-up with both fighters keen to make a statement during their respective return's to the ring.

The encounter will be another big step up for challenger Kell Brook who will be looking to spring one of the biggest upset's of the boxing calendar this year on foreign soil against Crawford who has his own eyes set on bigger things calling out Manny Pacquiao, Errol Spence Jr and Keith Thurman. Odds are stacked in favour of the American in familiar territory, with Brook seen as having it tall to do but with a vast experience in big fights against Spence Jr and Gennady Golovkin already on his tape anything is possible under the Vegas lights.

The fight will once again be promoted by Top Rank, and will take place behind-closed-doors in the MGM bubble in Las Vegas.

Crawford held the undisputed super lightweight world titles back in 2017 where he defeated Julius Indongo in his last fight at 140 before making the step up to welterweight and defeating Jeff Horn in his first contest.

Bud's last three fights began with a tough fight against Jose Benavidez Jr where he successfully defended his WBO title with a 12th round stoppage in emphatic style to continue his astonishing undefeated record and set up another big contest with Briton Amir Khan.

The southpaw then dispatched of Amir Khan at ease under the lights of MSG in New York with a 6th round stoppage as Khan was pulled from his corner due to a reported low blow that was causing pain for his opponent.

His last fight was back in 2019 against 'the mean machine' Edigijus Kavaliauskas who was also undefeated at the time of the bout, and Crawford once again stopped the fight in the ninth as Crawford put the Lithuanian down twice in the round after also scoring a knockdown back in Round seven and further proving his reputation as one of the best operators in the business and a top fighter in the welterweight division.

Brook has never given up throughout his career and has earned himself a huge shot at Terence Crawford after losing his last world title shot at the hands of welterweight rival Errol Spence Jr.

Bouncing back from his defeat since, his last three fights have been convincing victories after stepping up to super welterweight for the Sheffield fighter, with his first outing since the defeat taking place in 2018 against Siarhei Rabchanka who Brook blasted out of the ring with a brutal second round victory to make a statement that he remains active and focussed.

Shortly after, Brook went the distance with Michael Zerafa at Sheffield Arena winning by unanimous decision after controlling the whole contest and being hugely ahead on the judge's scorecards and eyeing silverware at the higher weight.

'The Special One' then comfortably defeated Mark DeLuca back at welterweight after returning to his more comfortable weight in February of this year after an extended period out of the ring, and dispatched of his undefeated opponent in the seventh round and began calling for bigger and better names.

Now signed for Top Rank after a dispute with Matchroom and Sky Sports, Brook faces one of the biggest yet trickiest opportunities of his career and will look to use his speed, power and warrior atttitude to spring a shock against one of the best technicians in the industry in Crawford.
