Agit Kabayel and Zhilei Zhang set to challenge for WBC Interim crown

“The Last Crescendo” promises to be an unforgettable spectacle, with seven world title fights on the stacked card, topped by an undisputed light-heavyweight championship in the main event.

The WBC interim heavyweight title will be contested on the card between China’s Zhilei Zhang (27-2-1, 22KO), and Germany’s Agit Kabayel (25-0, 17KO).

The belt was previously held by Briton Dillian Whyte in 2021.

Zhang was previously the WBO interim champion, but lost the belt to New Zealander Joseph Parker, who now defends it to last-minute stand-in, Martin Bakole. Parker was due to challenge IBF World heavyweight champion Daniel Dubois, but the Londoner fell ill just days before.

Chinese powerhouse Zhang bounced back from that loss to defeat former WBC world champion Deontay Wilder in his next fight in June 2024.

Unbeaten German Kabayel has seen his stock rise over the past 12 months with shock wins over Arslanbek Makhmudov and the highly-touted American, Frank Sanchez.

Both fighters looked to be in great physical condition at the official weigh-in on Friday. The card packed with exciting fights will be streamed live on DAZN.
