Abdullah Mason is looking forward to a tough test

Abdullah Mason (19-0, 17 KO’s)  is set to make an appearance on the David Benavidez vs Anthony Yarde undercard this weekend, November 22.

The 21-year-old prospect will take on fellow undefeated Sam Noakes (17-0, 15 KO’s) in Riyadh, with the winner set to secure some major fights going forward.

The vacant WBO lightweight title is set to be on the line, meaning the winner will secure some major bargaining power over the rest of the division.

Speaking ahead of the bout, Mason revealed he is ready to put on a show on Saturday. 

“It’s definitely going to be explosive,” Mason told Fight Hub TV.

“I think he’s going to come with everything he has but in the end I don’t think that’ll be enough for him to come out on top because I’m definitely going to be the one to leave the ring with them raising my hand and with the WBO world championship.”

Looking to the future, a win would catapult the 21-year-old up the world ranking ladder, potentially setting up some huge fights for 2026. 

However, Mason has his sights firmly set on the end goal, stating that the outcome will remain the same, no matter who is placed in front of him. 

“There’s a lot of good fighters around my weight class but boxing’s going to determine exactly who I face in the future. 

“Whoever is in front of me is who I’m willing to face. At one point we thought that he would be the next fight for me and you see what happened, it ended up being Sam Noakes. But whatever comes in the future I’ll be prepared to face.”
